BBPOM - BI Collaborate to Build a Healthy and Independent Community

The Food and Drug Monitoring Center Agency (BBPOM) and Jakarta Branch Bank Indonesia (BI), held a Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) event themed 'Literacy and Education Supporting Jakarta as the Center of National Economy and Global City'.

The event held in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area in East Jakarta aims to build a healthy and independent community through digital acceleration in the economic and health sectors.

Besides being packaged attractively, various educational sessions also filled the event, ranging from information on food and drug safety, interactive quizzes, safe food product exhibitions, etc.

Jakarta Branch BBPOM Head, Sofiyani Chandrawati Anwar said visitors received educational materials on how to identify food containing hazardous substances such as formalin, borax, rhodamine B, and metanil yellow.

They also gained an understanding of the importance of conducting a KLIK Check by examining labels, distribution permits, and expiration dates of products before consumption.

"Hopefully, they can become smart consumers and participate in the supervision of food and drug safety, starting from themselves to their surrounding environment," she expressed, Tuesday (4/29).

Jakarta Branch BI's Licensing and Policy Implementation Division Representive, Arry Priyanto revealed, this collaboration is in line with the financial and health literacy program advocated by BI.

He explained the safety of drugs and food has a direct impact on the health and productivity of the community, which ultimately affects economic stability.

"Therefore, such education is very important and deserves to be continued," he explained.

He hoped that this collaboration could create a strong synergy in building literacy and education in the economic and health sectors within the community.

"Using secure payments to obtain safe medicine and food will be a positive output supporting economic and social transformation towards a golden Indonesia in 2045," he uttered.
